You may have heard the saying, clean as you go. Well when your Thanksgiving dinner is larger than immediate family, that may be a big task during preparation and dinner.
If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve got you covered:
Clear the Countertops
First things first, you can’t effectively clean without clearing the countertops of leftovers, dirty dishes or leftover ingredients.
Grab the trash can, open the pantry and get the sink and dishwasher ready, then put the things on the countertops in their proper place. This will give you an empty space to make clean.
Clean the Cutting Board
Be sure to put the cutting board where it can be cleaned. Raw turkey, ham or any other raw meat can contaminate your kitchen, so it is important to clean it thoroughly.
Use hot water, soap and a sponge or microfiber towel, and be sure to thoroughly dry it as well.
Put Away the Coasters
If everyone is done with their drinks, or guests have gone home, put away the coasters and placemats so none get misplaced and lost.
This way you won’t be missing any for the next holiday dinner!
Wipe It Down
Most importantly, you’ll need to wipe down the countertops thoroughly.
Your countertops should be cleaned regularly. Daily you should use mild dish soap and water, but when more thorough cleaning is needed, consider using a cleaner from your local home improvement store.
We suggest you use a 3-in-1 cleaner, polish and protectant that we sell in-house. In our showroom, we call it “Da-Good-Stuff.”
