Stain-Resistance of Viatera® Quartz Countertops:
Viatera® is made 93% natural quartz, an impervious crystalline mineral that is particularly resistant to absorption. When combined with polyester resins, the natural quartz creates a material that is non-porous and extremely stain resistant. Unlike other products, Viatera® does not require sealant to ensure its non-porous attribute.

Scratch-Resistance of Viatera® Quartz Countertops:
The natural quartz that makes up most of Viatera® makeup, is classified as the fourth hardest mineral on earth, by Moh’s Mineral Hardness scale. (The only harder mineral are topaz, sapphires, and diamonds.) This hardness of Viatera® makes it nearly impossible to scratch or chip.

Heat Resistance of Viatera® Quartz Countertops:
Although Viatera® is heat-resistant, we recommend that you use trivets and/or hot pads when working with hot pots, pans or any other kitchen items that produce a high amount of heat. This will ensure that you kitchen countertops stay beautiful for years to come.

Viatera® comes in the following slab sizes:

Are seams visible when using Viatera® Quartz for Countertops and other Surfaces?
Since a standard slab of the Viatera® product is 55″ x 120”, any countertop or project larger than this require a seam. During installation, the visibility of the seams is minimized by using adhesives specially matched to the your specific Viatera color.

Are lamination lines visible when using Viatera® Quartz for Countertops and other Surfaces?
Just like other stone surfaces, lamination lines may be visible depending on the requirements of the project. Viatera® is available in 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ thicknesses. As with all stone products, a lamination line is visible when two pieces of 3/4″ material are joined to create a 1 ½” front edge.
